Feed.Us instead of a CMS
Feed Us on your Website
Home :: Feed.Us on your Website
Man, there are a lot of Content Management Systems (CMS) out there. They can make it easy to publish content, sure, but they’ll also setup your Search Engine Optimization (SEO); manage your site template; run your versioning, check-in, and QA processes; balance your checkbook and give you a footrub.
If you want a full-featured CMS that does all that for you, then Feed.Us isn't for you. Feed.Us is best used when you want to add content management to a site without all that other crap, ie let Non-technical people publish and edit conten on a website without knowing HTML, ftp, css, Php and all that other jargon.
What if you've built something custom that doesn't jive with WordPress or Drupal? Then you have to setup an entirely separate site or subdomain just to be able to make it easy to make copy changes.
So that's why we made Feed.Us. Feed.us doesn’t want to take over your entire site... and it certainly doesn’t want to rub your feet. Feed.Us just wants to handle the content and play nicely with others.
You add Feed.Us to your server with a directory, a file and copy/paste codes that look like this:

It's built to work sort of like a Youtube embed code. Paste our code within your file (Php, .net, etc) in place of the text that needs to be edited. Then the client can login to www.Feed.Us to make changes. The content gets cached on your server and can be setup to use your CSS Div tags so that it fits in perfectly to the site - just like static content without a CMS.
You can setup Feed.Us to edit just one little spot on one page or operate an multipage, dynamic blog/news type section. It works on all platforms (Php, .net, Rails, Jsp, asp and now Python too) and on any server.
So what is Feed.Us best at? Getting the client off your back. Setup Feed.us for any copy they'd want to change. Then they won't have to ask you to make changes to text or an image - you can tell them do it themselves.
